2010 Woodinville Winemaker's Triathlon Results
The Woodinville wine community, Redhook Ale Brewery, Willows Lodge, and the Mitochondrial Research Guild hosted the second annual Winemakers Triathlon on July 21, 2010. Thirty-eight local wineries participated and $27,000 was raised for the Mitochondrial Research Guild.
The local wineries entered teams of up to 6 people to compete in the triathlon which included a running leg, a biking leg and a paddling leg which was done by the winemakers themselves. Three trophies were awarded - triathlon winner went to JM Cellars, best costume to Des Voignes Cellars, and best non-motorized water vehicle went to Patterson Cellars.
Following the triathlon, the winery teams and VIP guests sampled wine from all the wineries, beer from Redhook, food from Dante's Inferno Dogs, Met Market, The Barking Frog, Ooba's, Veraci Pizza, King's Command Foods, and Espresso Elegance. A dunk tank, relay races, tug of war and live music from the Bakra Bata steel drum band filled the air on the grassy bowl at Redhook.
