Cure for Mito Fall Fundraiser

In 2003, the Mitochondrial Research Guild hosted its first annual fall fundraiser at Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA raising over $135,000. Now 18 years later, we are still hosting an annual fall fundraiser at Willows Lodge and we have raised over $4 million in total!

For 15 years, these very special evenings included live and silent auctions, and a four-course dinner by Willows Lodge Executive Chef Bobby Moore, paired with wines provided by JM Cellars. The highlight of these evenings were the heartfelt stories and videos from our Mito families and our team of Mito specialists.

Beginning in 2018, we changed to a new format. Replacing the full live auction and dinner is now a more causal cocktail party but we have kept the features that have contributed to the success of this event over the years. We are still hosting our event in the very special setting offered at Willows Lodge with Chef Bobby preparing an amazing menu (though we have gone to a buffet) and John Bigelow is kicking off our event and providing a variety of wines from JM Cellars. Other things we are continuing include the silent beverage auction and a variety of activities to keep folks entertained. Our auctioneer April Brown is still involved asking for your support of the Mito Guild during the Raise the Paddle and most importantly, we are providing our attendees with an opportunity to hear from our Mito specialists and to hear from our Mito families through the amazing videos that Sarah Rudy does each year for our event. Check out our video library to see the videos from our past events.

Since our very first fundraiser we have been very fortunate to have the amazing support of all the staff at Willows Lodge in Woodinville, Washington and JM Cellars. They have been wonderful partners and we are very grateful for everything they have done for us. Special thanks go to Director of Catering Erin Laccinole and Executive Chef Bobby Moore from Willows Lodge and John and Peggy Bigelow from JM Cellars and to our auctioneer April Brown. We could not have done any of this without you! We are also very appreciative of our other corporate sponsors who have been there over the years and to our attendees who keep coming back year after year! Lastly, we could not keep hosting this event without the help from all of our volunteers.

Please consider joining us this year for our Cure for Mito Cocktail Party on October 17, 2020!
