Support Mitochondrial Research Guild Activities

There are many ways you can support our annual fundraiser! Sign-up to sponsor our event, donate an item for our auction, register to attend the event, or make a contribution to help us meet our fundraising goal. We appreciate your support!

To volunteer your time for the guild, please contact Diane Nielsen at mitoguild@gmail.com or Steve Serex at s.serex@nwmito-research.org.

To contribute through Greater Giving:

The guild accepts donations through Greater Giving’s secure payment service. Click here to make a donation to our general fund and thank you so much for your support! General funds provide direct investments in research and patient care conducted at Seattle Children’s. Click here to make a donation to our Family Grant program, which provides direct support to families impacted by mitochondrial disease whose children are treated at Seattle Children’s.

To contribute through Seattle Children’s:

Online contributions can be made directly to the guild by using the online donation process on the Seattle Children’s web site. However, you must take care to specify the Mitochondrial Research Guild as the target of your donation or it will go to the general funds of the hospital.  In the “Designation” box, please select “Other” and then in the box below “Other”, please enter “Mitochondrial Research Guild”. Also, just below that section be sure to search and select “Mitochondrial Research Guild” in the box that says “Add Guild Name to Receive Guild Credit”.
The secure web page for making donations is at https://secure.seattlechildrens.org.

To contribute through annual giving campaigns at work:

There are several ways to contribute to the guild through your annual giving campaign at work:

  • If your workplace allows you to select any recognized charitable organization, please request that Mitochondrial Research Guild be added to your companies list of charitable organizations. Please use our address: The Mitochondrial Research Guild  PO Box 761  Lynnwood, WA 98046. If they need additional information they can send an email to Diane Nielsen at mitoguild@gmail.com or Steve Serex at s.serex@nwmito-research.org.
  • If you are a government employee, donations can be made through the Combined Fund Drive. As a donor you must select Seattle Children’s Medical Center and write in “Mitochondrial Research Fund”. The CFD knows that this group is part of Seattle Children’s and will therefore map Mito gifts to the hospital. CFD gifts will be sent out and reported quarterly and your gift will show your name, address and gift designation. Feel free to contact Diane Nielsen at mitoguild@gmail.com or Steve Serex at s.serex@nwmito-research.org upon making a donation so we can confirm with the hospital that the funds were received.
  • Donations to the Mitochondrial Research Guild can also be made through United Way. As the donor you must select Seattle Children’s and write in “Mitochondrial Research Fund”. Seattle Children’s will make sure that these donations are put into the Mitochondrial Research Guild account. Feel free to contact us upon making a donation so we can confirm with the hospital that the funds were received.
